Legs wrapped round me the wrong way round

Alcohol is not the answer, it just makes you forget the question

And so off we went to another bar. ANOTHER BAR. It was really busy.

A DJ was in one corner. It was loud and the small dance floor in front of the DJ was full.

I stood at the bar patiently, order drinks and turned to find Summer stood behind, dancing to the song.

I have to say I did like the fact she always seemed so comfortable around me.

As the evening wore on and she had more to drink, she became louder and flirtier. She even kissed me when she came back from the loo.

“Thank you for inviting me. I have had such a good time.”

“Back to normal soon…” I wasn’t sure what normal was anymore.

“Don’t remind me.”

She carried on drinking and by the end of the night, was dancing (manically) and singing (tunelessly) as we walked back to the hotel.

She was really drunk. Again.

She kept holding on to me as we walked, to steady herself and then stopped at the door of the hotel.

“I can’t face all those stairs. You will have to carry me the rest of the way.”

“What? You have to be kidding.”

She stood with her arms folded. “I am not moving until you say you will carry me.”

“Summer, come on.” I tried to take her hand, but she pulled it away.

“No. Say it.”

“Whatever. Fine.”

She still didn’t move as I walked in.

“What now?”

She pouted. “I don’t like your tone. And now I don’t know if I want you to carry me.”

All the late night’s had made me tired. “Summer.”

“Summer.” OK softer tone. Think girly.

“Better. What?”

“Come on. I will carry you up to bed.”

“OK.” She jumped and I caught her. She put her arms round me.

“I like you.” She whispered.

“I like you too. Now mind your head.”

She ducked as we went in the hotel. She was light enough I could manage her up the stairs, watched by the receptionist and put her down at the door to the room.
